The Jane Austen Singing School for Young Ladies
The Jane Austen Singing School for Young Ladies was created in Fall 2009 as a historical performing experience for young women ages 12-18. Our objective is to learn healthy vocal technique in a supportive environment through the music that Jane Austen and her family loved and sang themselves. We study music from the Georgian period, vocal technique, practice public speaking, have tea, and watch excerpts of the films adapted from Austen’s novels. Our official website is www.janeaustensingingschool.com. Please visit! Also visit our Facebook page & become a friend.
If you are interested in becoming a member or know someone who is, please go to the contact page to request more information about classes.

Joanna makes custom jewelry for birthdays, wedding parties, anniversaries, holidays & Mother’s Day. She makes earrings, necklaces and bracelets primarily with semi-precious gemstones, pearls, & Swarovski crystals. Music of the Civil War: On the Altar of His Country
From 1861 to 1864, Joanna’s fourth-great grandmother corresponded with a family friend who went to war with Co. H of the 4th Regiment of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. William Gurley wrote Frances Bradly over 30 letters about his experience in the Army of the Potomac. He was 26, she was 13. Joanna has created a ‘libretto’ of their communication set to music by Josh Daniel Coles for soprano, baritone, speaker, and piano quintet, On the Altar of His Country, which premiered in 2007.
